What would you ask the President of the united States, If given the opportunity
This may be a question of a life time for the sophomore
college student, he was quite bold and direct… too bad
the President did not reply with the same tenacity, even
though he claims he and his family are not that far away
from those years when they did not know what bill was
going to be paid on time, including their student loans…
Here is the question -
a young man who identified himself as a college sophomore
— and wisely didn’t provide his name
— complimented the president on his efforts to stimulate
the economy. He then asked Obama whether he has considered
“legalizing prostitution, gambling, drugs and nonviolent crime”
as a way to further boost economic growth.
President Obama’s reply-
“I appreciate the boldness of your question, but that would not be my strategy,” the president said, to laughter. In college, he said, “what you are supposed to do is to question conventional wisdom. So you’re doing what you’re supposed to do.”
[btw-never really answered this question]
I guess He is fitting in to “Washington-Politics as usual”
IMHO -
I guess he was far enough removed from that time in his life,
that he lost one of the lessons he learned in college “to question
conventional wisdom…” Finn Perkins

Dis-Grace: CNN’s Nancy Grace Loses Critical Motion in Court
U.S. District Judge William Terrell Hodges rejected a motion to dismiss the lawsuit this week. Grace attacked Duckett, 21, on a show about the disappearance of her Trenton in August 2006. Grace grilled the woman about not taking a lie detector test and being vague about her whereabouts. Duckett went out and killed herself.
The family of Melinda Duckett will get its day in court against CNN’s Nancy Grace, but not until 2010.
Jerry and Beth Eubank, the parents of Melinda Duckett, said Grace is to blame for an interview which they said pushed their daughter to suicide. Read story.
It appears that CNN’s Nancy Grace will have to answer for her conduct on her program. CNN and Grace have been sued for the wrongful death of Melinda Duckett, who committed suicide after Grace attacked her on the program — suggesting that she was responsible for her own child’s disappearance. Many in the bar are delighted by the lawsuit against Grace who was repeatedly charged with abuses as a prosecutor and has degraded the profession with her snarling sensationalistic program.

AFSP: National Survivors of Suicide Day
National Survivors of Suicide Day is a day of healing for those who have lost someone to suicide. It was created by U.S. Senate resolution in 1999 through the efforts of Sen. Harry Reid of Nevada, who lost his father to suicide. …
Sad that we actually have a day for this, maybe we need a “National Listen to a Friend Day”…it takes a prominent person in our so call equal society to bring this issue to the masses. So take time to really know your friends, and just maybe they will be your friends for life…
